This vintage mid-century modern Model 3473 sofa was designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller and introduced in 1964. Developed a decade after the Eames Sofa Compact, the 3473 retained its distinctive high-backed profile and exposed aluminum base while introducing a slightly larger, more generously upholstered seat and back. The design also incorporated elements of the Eames Executive Chair, resulting in a refined combination of sculptural form and exceptional comfort. Produced by Herman Miller from 1964 through 1973, the Model 3473 had a relatively brief production run and is less commonly encountered than the Eames Sofa Compact.

This vintage 3473 sofa was produced in the 1960s and has been expertly reupholstered in a handsome textured multitone gray tweed fabric. The classic armless three-seat sofa features a single upholstered seat and tall, three-section cushioned back, the gently angled seat and back resting on an exposed metal frame with distinctive sculpted cast aluminum legs.
