Tall 28" Mid Century Modernist Stainless Steel Geometric Table Lamp, 1970s
Ask a Question
This impressive vintage mid-century modernist stainless steel table lamp circa 1970 features a striking architectural design with a tall, sculptural profile and bold geometric construction. This unique lamp is substantial and well-constructed and features a polished stainless steel body rising from a thick cross-shaped base to an arrangement of four symmetrical folded metal panels surrounding a central light source. The silver exterior contrasts with black interior surfaces, emphasizing the angular geometry and creating a dramatic interplay of light, shadow and reflection. The plug-in lamp is dimmable with an integrated rotary dimmer switch on the vertical column and has a single standard base porcelain light socket. The lamp base retains a vintage Underwriters Laboratories (UL) portable lamp certification label and impressed manufacturer’s marking on underside, partially legible as “ART METAL CO.”
