This pair of vintage mid century modern leather Barcelona lounge chairs designed by Mies van der Rohe were manufactured by Knoll International in 1977. This classic pair feature heavy, polished chrome steel frames and original black leather upholstery with tufted buttons and cowhide belting leather support straps. Original Knoll International labels on seat cushions of both chairs dated 1977. Additional manufacturer's sticker to frame of one chair also dated 1977.

The iconic Bauhaus Barcelona chair was originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929 for the Barcelona Pavilion. The Barcelona chair epitomizes early 20th century modernism and “functional minimalism", combining elegant design with premium materials, exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. These timeless, versatile and highly collectible chairs pair well with a wide range of decor styles from mid century modern to traditional to contemporary — the perfect set for home or office.
