Pair Eames Soft Pad Recliners with Ottoman for Herman Miller, Gray Leather Aluminum Group

This pair of authentic Eames for Herman Miller Aluminum Group Soft Pad Recliners and Soft Pad Ottoman was manufactured in 1990. The matching set of two chairs and one ottoman is upholstered in high-grade medium gray leather. The recliner chairs feature a four cushion backrest and a four-star polished aluminum base with floor glides and the ottoman has a standard universal four-star base. Ottoman with impressed Herman Miller logo on underside. Chairs date stamped Jul 1, 1990.

The Soft Pad Recliner and Ottoman were introduced to the market in 1969 as part of the Aluminum Group Collection designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958. The Aluminum Group Recliner chair has a high back, wide seat and relaxed pitch. The comfortable, contoured ergonomic design conforms to the body’s shape and features 360-degree smooth swivel seat and balancing tilt with a thick, plush seat and lightweight, die-cast aluminum frame on a tubular steel column. CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Leather upholstery is soft and supple and in near perfect condition.
