This Danish modern teak secretary bookcase cabinet was designed by Peter Løvig Nielsen and produced by Løvig Dansk Designs in Denmark circa 1960. The cabinet design and craftsmanship exemplify the functional, carefully detailed case furniture associated with Danish modern design of the period. This expertly-crafted two-piece cabinet combines open display shelving, a concealed secretary desk and extensive closed storage. The upper section features open adjustable and removable shelves above a full-width drop-front panel that opens to form a large writing or work surface. The fitted secretary interior includes additional shelving, open compartments and two small removable drawers. The lower cabinet features a single door with interior shelf alongside four wide drawers. The cabinet is fitted with distinctive original brass pulls, exposed brass hardware and dovetailed joinery detail at the drawers and legs. Raised on a separate removable base, the cabinet can be disassembled into three components for easier transport. This versatile cabinet is well-suited as a bookcase cabinet, secretary desk, home office cabinet or general storage and display cabinet. Both upper and lower sections retain their original Løvig Dansk Designs Denmark stamps on back.

NOTE: List price is for a single cabinet. We have a coordinating Løvig bookcase cabinet also available separately. The two cabinets can be used side-by-side to create a larger matching wall unit. Please reach out for details.

CONDITION
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Solid and sturdy. General surface wear expected with age and normal use, including scratches, scuffs and marks throughout, with more scratching and wear to the horizontal surfaces, including the top of the lower cabinet and drop-front writing surface. Some fading and color variation to the wood, including lighter areas beneath the adjustable shelves visible if the shelves are repositioned. Brass hardware retains an aged patina.
