Antique French Art Deco Dominique Lemonwood Desk 1930s

This beautiful antique French Art Deco desk was made in France by Dominique circa 1930. The form is simple and elegant and the desk is expertly crafted from Ceylonese lemonwood wood accented with bronze mounts with a thick, beveled glass top that is removable. Four side drawers feature hand-cut dovetail joinery and a pull-out writing surface extends at the back.
Maison Dominique
Originally created by interior decorators Andre Domin and Marcel Genevrire in 1922, Maison Dominique was renowned for its avant-garde Art Deco furniture, which combined elegant, rectilinear lines with smooth curves, often utilizing precious woods, bronze, and copper inlay, and gained recognition for its unique blending of Cubist aesthetics and French elegance. In operation until 1970, the brand remains highly collectible.

Excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
