This vintage mid century modern Model MP floor lamp designed by Italian designer Ennio Chiggio for Lumenform in 1968 was produced in Italy circa 1970. Chiggio’s creations are often characterized by the use of simple materials and clean lines and his lamps are reminiscent of the popular lamps designed by Achille Castiglioni for Flos from the same period. The sleek, modernist design of this Model MP lamp is equally industrial and elegant with a striking sculptural profile. It features a slender adjustable polished chrome stem supported by a heavy, solid cast iron black base with metal trim. The chrome lampshade takes one halogen bulb.
CONDITION
Good condition with wear consistent with age and use and a vintage appearance. Original rubber glides show natural aging. Chrome shows some patina especially on the shade as per photos. Lamp base is heavy and sturdy. One screw missing on base. Long black plug-in cord has electrical tape on one small section. Re-wiring is advised. Lightbulb included.
