This vintage mid century modern brown leather Barcelona chair designed by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll was manufactured in 1983. This iconic Bauhaus chair originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929 for the Barcelona Pavilion exhibits “functional minimalism” and epitomizes early 20th century modernism. The Barcelona chair combines elegant, sophisticated design with premium materials, exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. This Barcelona lounge chair feature a heavy, polished chrome stainless steel frame and is upholstered in the original cognac brown leather with thick, welted piping, tufted buttons and 17 cowhide belting leather straps on backrest and seat. This versatile and timeless and highly collectible chair pairs well with a wide range of decor styles from mid century modern to transitional to contemporary; the perfect lounge chair for home or office.
